Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate midwife to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will provide comprehensive care to individuals and families, focusing on prenatal, birth, and postnatal care. You will play a crucial role in promoting maternal and infant health, providing support throughout the birthing process, and ensuring high-quality care in both home and clinical settings.
Duties
- Conduct thorough patient evaluations, including medical histories, physical examinations, and monitoring fetal health during pregnancy.
- Provide prenatal care, including screenings, lab work, and counseling for expectant mothers.
- Assist with labor and delivery, ensuring a safe and supportive environment for both mother and baby.
- Offer postpartum care to mothers and newborns, monitoring recovery, growth, and overall health.
- Develop personalized care plans tailored to each patient's unique needs throughout pregnancy, birth, and the postnatal period.
- Educate patients on prenatal health, birthing options, infant care, and postpartum recovery.
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals, such as obstetricians and paediatricians, to ensure comprehensive care.
- Utilize electronic health record systems to document patient information and treatment plans.
- Stay current with the latest research and best practices in midwifery to provide high-quality care.
Requirements
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Midwifery from an accredited institution.
- Registered Midwife with the relevant provincial regulatory body.
- Proven experience in prenatal, labor, and postnatal care.
- Strong clinical skills and knowledge of maternal and infant health.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to build rapport with patients of all ages.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative healthcare team.
