Job summary

Richmond Christian School is seeking a dynamic Educational Assistant to join our team for the 2026-2027 school year, starting as soon as possible. The EA will support students under teacher direction, working with groups or one-on-one to provide emotional and social supports.

The role focuses on students in Grade 7 and 8 and requires collaboration with teachers and adherence to PBIS principles. This on-site position is at the Middle Campus in Richmond, BC.

Qualifications

• Certification from an accredited Educational Assistant Program or related certification such as Behaviour Interventionist or ECE.
• Evidence of coursework or experience with exceptional and unique learners.
• Previous experience in a school or similar environment is an asset.

Responsibilities

• Support students under the direction of the classroom teacher, both class-wide and in small groups or one-to-one.
• Collaborate with teachers to meet student needs and maintain effective communication.
• Provide emotional and social support to students, primarily in grades 7 and 8, on-site at the middle campus.

About the Position

The ideal candidate demonstrates a strong commitment towards Christian Education and an ability to anticipate the needs of a diverse group of learners. The ideal candidate also demonstrates a foundational knowledge in working within the Positive Behaviour Support framework. The Educational Assistant (EA) will work to support students, under the direction of the classroom teacher, both class wide as well as in small groups or one-to-one.

The EA should have strong collaboration and communication skills in order to work best with classroom teachers and should show flexibility to best meet student needs. Specifically for this role, the EA will mainly support students with emotional and social supports. The EA will most likely be working with students in Grade 7 and/or 8; this may be subject to change.

This role is an on-site position located at our Middle Campus located at 10200, No 5 Road, Richmond, BC.

Education & Experience

Compensation range

CAD $26,427.02 - $41,206.42, based on experience and qualifications.
