Job Description

The Mid IMF Artist is responsible for the last stage of the visual pipeline, ensuring shots are polished, clean, and aligned with the project’s artistic direction. This role involves a variety of tasks, including clean-up, continuity fixes, stereo adjustments, and retakes. Depending on experience, the artist may work under close supervision or with significant autonomy.

Responsibilities

Production

  • Perform image clean-up, continuity corrections, and last-pass compositing in Nuke.

  • Address paint fixes, stereo corrections, projection setups, and minor retake integration.

  • Ensure visual polish, color balance, and consistency across shots and sequences.

  • Collaborate with lighting, compositing, and production teams to maintain visual quality.

  • Troubleshoot and optimize shots based on technical and artistic feedback.

  • Apply retakes according to notes from supervisors or leads.

  • Maintain organized files and workflows following studio standards.

Collaboration

  • Share knowledge and best practices with peers and junior artists.

  • Participate in dailies and provide constructive feedback.

  • Support leads and supervisors during reviews and look development phases.

Qualifications
  • Strong proficiency with Nuke.

  • Excellent eye for detail, continuity, and visual harmony.

  • Ability to interpret artistic/technical direction and implement feedback effectively.

  • Understanding of stereo principles and continuity challenges.

  • Organized, methodical, and able to meet production deadlines.

  • Comfortable working in a collaborative team environment.

  • Basic English communication skills.

  • Experience with camera projections and paint techniques.

Optional skills (a plus)

  • Knowledge of ShotGrid or other production tracking tools.

  • Familiarity with render passes, Katana, and Arnold.

  • Understanding of 3D pipelines and compositing integration.

  • Basic Python/TCL scripting for automation or tool support.

Additional Information

The person in this role will work closely with our Paris studio in a bilingual environment, as well as with international partners, talent, and clients. They will regularly interact with non-French-speaking stakeholders across various productions and strategic communications, in order to present and promote the creative and technical strengths of Mikros Animation on a global scale.
