Overview:
Our client is seeking a qualified contractor to take on the role of Microsoft 365 Purview and Modern Work Security Specialist. This role is pivotal in implementing and governing Microsoft 365 compliance and security features to support the institution’s digital strategy. The specialist will lead configuration, risk management, documentation, and training across key Microsoft 365 services such as Exchange Online, SharePoint Online, and Microsoft Teams.

What you will be doing:

• Implement and govern Microsoft Purview across Exchange Online, SharePoint Online, and Teams.

• Design and enforce DLP, information protection, and retention policies.

• Configure and manage Defender for Office 365 and Endpoint security tools.

• Collaborate with business and IT teams on governance and secure collaboration strategies.

• Conduct risk assessments and gap analyses.

• Provide operational support and incident response for M365 security.

• Create governance documentation and training materials.

• Contribute to metrics, reporting, and knowledge sharing.

• Stay current with Microsoft 365 updates and align improvements with the institution’sdigital strategy.

• Perform additional duties as required.

What you must have:

• Strong experience with Microsoft Purview compliance solutions (DLP, Info Protection, eDiscovery, Insider Risk Mgmt).

• Proven expertise in Microsoft 365 E5 features, including Defender for Office 365 and Microsoft Entra ID (Azure AD).

• Deep understanding of Exchange Online, SharePoint Online, and Teams governance and security.

• Experience implementing M365 compliance/security policies in a regulated environment.

• Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
