A regional health authority in Victoria, BC is seeking a Microbiology Technologist. The role involves performing established laboratory procedures and analyzing samples for bacteria detection. Candidates should possess CSMLS certification and a diploma in Medical Laboratory Technology, with a strong knowledge of microbiology techniques. Reporting to the Supervisor or delegate, the Microbiology Technologist performs established microbiology laboratory procedures, including analysing to detect and identify bacteria and clinically significant organisms.
Canadian Society for Medical Laboratory Science (CSMLS) certification as a Medical Laboratory Technologist.
Graduation from a recognized diploma program in Medical Laboratory Technology.
Completion of microbiology related courses within the last two years or one (1) year recent, related experience within the last six years in the microbiology section of the laboratory, or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
