Job Summary
- Perform microbiological analyses of raw materials, finished products, and stabilities in compliance with HSE rules, GMP, GLP, and other relevant standards.
- Take samples, perform environmental control, prepare and analyze culture media, identify microorganisms, calibrate and validate equipment, and ensure proper functioning of laboratory tools.
Main functions
- Prepare culture media and controls.
- Perform microbiological analyses, including microbial assays, according to current methods.
- Implement the environmental control program, including testing purified water and compressed air.
- Collect samples and analyze during production validation and cleaning validation processes.
- Manage special projects as required.
- Ensure availability and proper maintenance of laboratory equipment.
- Handle the preparation, freezing, and management of reference strains.
- Work in accordance with GLP and occupational safety standards.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of workstations per GLP and HSE standards.
- Document analyses thoroughly, following standards and procedures (LIMS investigations).
- Participate in the transfer of validated analysis methods.
- Engage in various microbiology laboratory projects.
- Investigate and re-analyze atypical OOS or OOT results.
- Calibrate and qualify laboratory instruments.
- Analyze validation samples for manufacturing processes and project-related stabilities.
- Contribute to drafting procedures and manuals as needed.
- Maintain technical qualifications and knowledge of current methods and procedures.
Management responsibility
This position involves performing laboratory analyses without supervisory responsibilities.
Resources (means) (budget investments)
No budget management; expenses are the responsibility of the department head.
Main professional relations (internal/external)
Internal: Collaborate with the analytical, quality control, and purchasing departments.
External: Coordinate with laboratory analysis service providers.
Knowledge and skills required
- Training: DEC in Chemistry-Biology, Biotechnology, or Chemistry with relevant experience, or Baccalaureate in Microbiology.
- Languages: French and English.
- Experience: 3-5 years in microbiology analysis labs, with experience in pharmaceutical analysis, familiar with GMP/GLP standards.
- Technical skills: Microbiological techniques, laboratory instrumentation, metrology, and knowledge of LIMS/CAPM systems.
