MIAMI PART-TIME NANNY/ASSISTANT

Overview

MIAMI, FL (LOCAL CANDIDATES ONLY) – A wonderful family in Miami is seeking a PART-TIME NANNY/ASSISTANT to support their sweet and curious 6-year-old daughter. This role offers a blend of hands-on childcare and flexible assistant duties, perfect for someone who enjoys working with children and has a proactive, organized spirit.

The schedule is Monday through Friday, 1:30 PM – 6:30 PM. Responsibilities include school pick-up, transporting her to therapy appointments, assisting with homework and handwriting, and engaging her in fun, meaningful play. The ideal candidate is someone who can be both playful and silly—able to meet a 6-year-old on her level—while also knowing how to be firm and assertive when it's time to focus or follow through with expectations. A background in speech, occupational, or physical therapy is a huge plus but not required.

In addition to childcare, the role includes virtual assistant duties, such as organizing spreadsheets and performing light research for mom’s company, helping plan the child’s schedule, and researching new activities. These virtual responsibilities will likely be incorporated on Fridays.

Mom travels often, though it rarely impacts the nanny’s schedule. Any request for extended hours would come with at least a week’s notice, and a backup caregiver is available as needed.

A safe and reliable vehicle is required for school pickups and driving to activities. Mileage reimbursement will be provided. Compensation is $30–$35/hour, depending on experience. PTO may be available after building rapport and demonstrating commitment. There is a small hypoallergenic dog in the home, so no allergies, please!

This position is ideal for someone who is engaging, fun-loving, responsible, and confident, with a natural ability to connect with children while maintaining structure and consistency. The family is eager to welcome someone who will grow into the role and become a valued part of their team. Start date is May/June.

Qualifications

• BA/BS COLLEGE DEGREE | AA IN RELATED FIELD OF STUDY | OR A MINIMUM OF 5+ YEARS OF PROFESSIONAL NANNY EXPERIENCE
• UP TO DATE FIRST-AID & CPR CERTIFICATION (WILLINGNESS TO RENEW AS NEEDED)
• THE ABILITY TO MAKE A ONE-YEAR COMMITMENT UNLESS APPLYING FOR A TEMPORARY POSITION
• A PASSION FOR WORKING WITH CHILDREN
• 5+ YEARS OF CHILDCARE EXPERIENCE IN ANY FIELD
• EXCELLENT WORK AND PERSONAL REFERENCES
• U.S. DRIVER’S LICENSE (THIS DOES NOT APPLY TO NYC RESIDENTS)
• MUST BE A COMPETENT SWIMMER (IF AND WHEN REQUIRED)
