Description
This role requires a Level II MFL Data Analyst certification. This position is on-site at our location in Leduc, AB, and relocation assistance is not offered.
Position Summary
The Data Analysis Level II / III performs all analysis activities including data setup, searches, feature detection, identification, metal loss sizing, DQA’s, and QAQC tasks. Creates Preliminary and Final Report documentation. Supports the development of Trainees and Level I Data Analysts.
Responsibilities

- Work in a team environment, collaborating and sharing knowledge and experiences.
- Learn the responsibilities and tasks of a Level III Data Analyst, working towards Level III certification.
- Prioritize daily tasks to ensure on-time delivery of reports and tasks.
- Understand and comply with API 1163, ASNT ILI-PQ, and POF standards.
- Prepare and process ILI data.
- Analyze ILI data acquired during in-line inspections.
- Create and correlate Wall Thickness verification tables.
- Perform odometer rebuilds as necessary.
- Conduct Data Quality Assessments (DQA’s) to evaluate data quality post-inspection.
- Perform feature categorization, evaluation, sizing, and apply anomaly interaction rules.
- Correlate analysis results with inspection data from previous years.
- Assist in training Data Analysis Trainees and Level I Data Analysts.
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to achieve team goals.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- College/University Degree or diploma preferred, or equivalent experience.
- Minimum 1.5 years of experience interpreting MFL, Geometry, and IDOD pipeline inspection data.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially advanced Excel skills.
- Data Analyst Level II certification.
- Strong work ethic and a positive attitude.
- Proficiency with customized and shrink-wrap software applications.
- Ability to deliver accurate and timely results.
- Ability to make independent decisions affecting pipeline integrity.
- Focus and ability to handle repetitive tasks.
- Pattern recognition and spatial thinking skills.
- Customer-focused with excellent attention to detail and teamwork skills.
- Knowledge of PHMSA Part 192 and 195 regulations, API, NACE, and ASME standards is a plus.
