Job summary

Avmax Group in Calgary, AB, is hiring a Metrology Technician to calibrate and repair mechanical and electrical measuring equipment within the Avionics division. You will use company tooling and Quantum to prepare accurate reports and collaborate with a dedicated team.

Candidates need a two-year diploma, a background in electronics, and the ability to obtain Transport Canada security clearances. Experience with calibration and maintenance software is an asset, and strong attention to detail is

Qualifications

  • Two-year diploma in a relevant field.
  • CCT designation or progress toward obtaining the designation is considered an asset.
  • Strong background in electronics and familiarity with electronic test equipment required.
  • Experience using Quantum or similar enterprise or maintenance software is considered an asset.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain required Transport Canada security clearances.

Responsibilities

Reporting

The Metrology Technician reports directly to the Metrology Shop Supervisor.

Key Performance Indicators / Duties & Responsibilities

  • Calibrate and repair mechanical and electrical measuring and testing equipment.
  • Use company tooling and equipment to calibrate and repair measuring and testing instruments.
  • Use Quantum to prepare work reports and customer documentation accurately and efficiently.
  • Work collaboratively in a team environment to achieve departmental goals.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Two-year diploma in a relevant field required.
  • Certified Calibration Technician (CCT) designation, or progress toward obtaining the designation, is considered an asset.
  • Strong background in electronics and familiarity with electronic test equipment required. Previous hands-on mechanical experience is considered a strong asset.
  • Previous experience using Quantum or similar enterprise or maintenance software is considered an asset.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a dynamic team environment.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain required Transport Canada security clearances.

Experience

  • Minimum 3 years of experience working in a production environment.
  • Aviation experience is considered an asset.
