Job summary

Safran is seeking metallurgical operators at its Mirabel site to perform heat treatment, shot peening, and inspection tasks on landing gear components. You will process parts, run tests, and contribute to quality assurance while supporting safety, cost, and delivery objectives.

An emphasis is placed on autonomy, initiative, and attention to detail. The role requires metallurgy experience, relevant aerospace training, and basic computer skills.

Qualifications

• Metallurgy experience
• College studies in metallurgy (DEC or AEC) or DEP in foundry, DEP in mechanical assembly in aerospace or in structural assembly in aerospace, DEP in welding-assembly or equivalent experience as a metallurgy operator
• Basic computer knowledge
• Attention to detail and rigor
• Analytical mindset and initiative

Responsibilities

• Prepare and assemble parts.
• Perform heat treatment or shot peening operations.
• Conduct laboratory tests (hardness, tensile, saturation).
• Perform inspections using non-destructive testing (magnetic testing).
• Detect and resolve technical issues.
• Carry out visual inspections to ensure compliance with specifications.
• Complete the appropriate quality assurance documentation.
• Contribute to continuous improvement of operations and achieving safety, quality, cost and on-time delivery objectives.

Safran Landing Systems is a subsidiary of Safran Landing Systems, a world leader in landing and braking systems for aircraft. The Mirabel plant is dedicated to the manufacturing of major components of landing gear for Airbus A320, A330, and A350 models, as well as the Boeing 787. It features state-of-the-art equipment for machining, polishing, and special processes, including heat treatment, shot peening, and surface treatments.

You will perform various operations related to metallurgical processes on landing gear components.

More Specifically, You Will Be Called To

• prepare and assemble parts,
• perform heat treatment or shot peening operations,

Night shift, Monday to Friday from 12:10 AM to 6:40 AM

Note: Depending on the collective agreement rules, the position may change shifts (evening, night, or weekend)

• The salary for this position starts between $31.18 and $45.12 per hour, depending on your skills, experience, and qualifications. With internal training and your progression in acquiring job-related skills, the hourly wage will increase up to a maximum of $48.97.
• $1.00/hr bonus
