Job summary

AtkinsRéalis Canada’s Metallurgical Laboratory is seeking a technician to conduct all operations related to the services offered, document testing results, and present findings to the customer. You will ensure activities are performed safely and in accordance with procedures, and assist in the preparation of specifications and procedures used in the Met Lab.

A community college metallurgy degree and knowledge of ASTM testing are preferred, with certifications considered assets, and a strong

• Degree from a community college in Metallurgy or equivalent preferred.
• LPI, UT, MT certification(s) would be assets.
• Knowledge of metallurgy, welding inspections, and ASTM testing requirements.
• Strong practical aptitude with inspection and testing equipment.
• Proficiency in computer and word-processing applications.
• Excellent teamwork and collaboration skills.

Overview

AtkinsRéalis is one of Canada's largest private sector nuclear engineering groups. We have been providing a wide range of services to the nuclear industry in Canada and around the world since for more than 60 years. We are proud to be the steward of Canadian CANDU nuclear technology.

The mandate of the Metallurgical Laboratory is to provide testing and analysis services with respect to materials both metallic and non metallic. The types of services offered include:

Hardness testing.

• Mechanical testing.
• Non destructive examination.
• Heat treatment.
• Cutting and grinding.
• Metallographic examination.
• Failure analysis.
• Corrosion studies in high temperature and pressure autoclaves.
• Miscellaneous bench top corrosion tests.

Your role

• Conduct all operations related to the services offered by the Metallurgical Laboratory.

About you
