Job summary

A. M. Castle & Co. is seeking a machine operator in Toronto, Ontario to run cutting machines and power equipment to meet customer specifications in a metal production environment. Hours are 5:30am to 2pm, with compensation of $27-$28/hr plus bonus eligibility.

The role requires setup, safe operation, basic measurement and math, and the ability to move materials and assist with warehouse tasks. The company offers extensive benefits and a long history of industry leadership.

Qualifications

• Two years of warehouse experience.
• Capable of being certified in assigned equipment (forklift, etc.).
• PC literacy.

Responsibilities

• Sets up and operates cutting machine(s) per procedures.
• Operates power equipment to process materials per customer orders.
• Safely adjusts machine settings to meet specifications.
• Reports defects and performs maintenance as needed.
• Assists with warehouse tasks: loading/unloading, order filling, and material movement.
• Follows customer requirements to select, fill and package orders.
