Overview

Location: Montreal, Full time in office

Valnet is seeking a highly analytical and driven Mergers and Acquisitions Analyst to help run the acquisition lifecycle and to manage our internal investments. The ideal candidate possesses excellent analytical and problem-solving skills and the desire to work in a fast-paced environment. This person will report directly to the Head of M&A and will work closely with our Brands and the rest of the leadership team in regards to future and potential acquisitions.

Valnet est à la recherche d\'un analyste en fusions et acquisitions hautement analytique et motivé pour gérer le cycle d\'acquisition et superviser nos investissements internes. Le candidat idéal doit posséder d\'excellentes compétences en analyse et en résolution de problèmes, ainsi qu\'une grande capacité à évoluer dans un environnement dynamique. Cette personne reportera directement au Responsable des Fusions et Acquisitions et travaillera en étroite collaboration avec nos marques et le reste de l\'équipe de direction sur les acquisitions futures et potentielles.

Responsibilities / Responsabilités
  • Co-lead the entire acquisition lifecycle: knowledge of the competitive landscape, sourcing, pipeline growth, capital deployment, valuation, negotiating, assisting counsel with purchase agreement drafting, integration/management (operations) with the objective of driving results in line with IRR expectations
  • Manage internal investments by leading or co-leading operations with content/business partners and driving operational/financial results as per budgeted expectations
  • Assist investment team\'s needs with ad hoc requests, i.e. operational and financial modeling/budgeting/tracking/KPIs, while also assisting with special projects/reporting/meetings/presentations

Autres tâches quotidiennes :

  • KPI tracking: creating and iterating processes to track financial and operational KPIs such as revenue, cost per article, active sessions, failure rates, EBITDA, etc
  • Modeling: assisting in creating frameworks for operational and financial models, as well as forecasting for the future while also analyzing past data
  • Data analysis tasks: using tools available (PubInights, GA, etc) to do a deep dive into certain operations or areas of operations. Evaluating all data and looking for patterns of behavior that could help inform decisions
  • M&A due diligence: reconcile financials, compile and evaluate operational data, use data to make informed decisions on forecasting
Qualifications / Exigences
  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business, Economics, or related field
  • MBA or advanced degree is a plus
  • 0-3 years of relevant experience in M&A, investment banking, private equity, VC, or corporate development
  • Strong understanding of financial modeling, valuation techniques and due diligence processes
  • Strong self-motivation with analytical, negotiation and communication skills
  • Affinity for adtech, media or technology
