The Manager of Merchandising Operations will oversee and optimize merchandising workflows, ensuring operational efficiencies across multiple areas. The position will lead initiatives related to space planning, visual merchandising, promotional effectiveness, and in-stock management, among others, while partnering closely with key teams to drive improved business results.

Core Duties

  • Identify opportunities to streamline merchandising operations and improve processes to support long-term business growth.
  • Responsible for visual presentation in-stores, ensuring a world-class shopping environment.
  • Lead initiatives to improve and right-size category spacing in-stores, maximizing retail space efficiency and ensuring alignment with customer traffic and product performance data.
  • Direct and coordinate activities of projects / initiatives throughout the stages to ensure project progresses according to schedule and maintains appropriate documentation.
  • Evaluate and enhance the performance of marketing campaigns and promotions, leveraging insights to optimize future strategies.
  • Collaborate with supply chain and category management teams to ensure optimal inventory levels, reduce overages, and improve product availability.
  • Review and complete reporting and analysis of business plans and to assist with developing category plans
  • Works with the Senior Director, Merchandising and other stakeholders to prioritize, effectively communicate, and execute strategic initiatives.
  • Demonstrates the company’s values in all aspects of their work performance.

Experience And Competencies

  • 5+ years of experience in merchandising, category management, or supply chain within a retail environment
  • Advanced experience with space planning, inventory management, and promotional effectiveness strategies
  • Strong analytical skills, with the ability to work with large data sets and derive actionable insights
  • Experience in the furniture or home goods industry is a plus.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities
  • Highly collaborative, with experience working across departments
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, merchandising, supply chain, or a related field is required
  • Advanced degree or professional certification in merchandising or project management is a plus
  • Combination of education and experience will be considered.

Work Parameters

  • Normal working hours fall between 8am – 5pm Central Standard Time.
  • Evenings and Weekends as required.
  • Observes National Holidays of country of employment and Office Closures of head office of record.
  • Driver’s License Required.
  • Passport and ability to travel in North America 25% of time. Single and multiple day with overnights.
  • A satisfactory Criminal Record Check may be required.
