Reporting to the Category Manager, the Merchandising Analyst will play a key role in supporting the commercialization of products within their assigned category. This position works cross-functionally with multiple departments to bring unique, high-quality products to market that meet our customers’ needs and drive company growth and profitability. Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage sales results and margins for assigned categories.
  • Item creation, image processing, marketing review and flyer proofing.
  • Lead performance reviews and implement actions to achieve objectives.
  • Develop and execute category development plan.
  • Coordinate supplier sourcing, assortment and margin management activities, in
  • close collaboration with the National Merchandising and Category Management team.
  • Plan and execute a promotional plan in collaboration with suppliers and the National Category Management team.
  • Monitor trends and perform category analysis.
  • Plan sourcing in collaboration with the procurement and supply chain team.
  • Develop merchandising and planography strategies, in collaboration with the Space Planner, Category Manager and the National Category Management team.
  • Ensure data integrity using SAP business processes.
  • Demonstrate leadership and enthusiasm in a context of change, encouraging innovation and the adoption of new ideas.
  • Assume all other related responsibilities as required by the business.

Key Requirements:

  • More than five (5) years' experience in product development and purchasing,
  • partnership negotiation, merchandising and category management in retail.
  • Degree in a relevant field (administration, category management, business, etc.).
  • Outstanding leadership and positivism, be a team player, stimulate innovation and
  • generate commitment.
  • Be a mobilizing leader in a fast growing, high demand team.
  • Knowledge of the animal industry (considerable asset).
  • Strong interpersonal, communication and team skills.
  • Good analytical, synthesis and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent negotiation skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects, planning and organization of work.
  • Ability to work under pressure and demonstrate rigor and attention to detail.
  • Good knowledge of Microsoft Office environment (Word, Power BI, Excel intermediate, PowerPoint and Outlook).
  • Proficiency of the SAP suite and NAV (an asset).
