Job description

Overview

This hybrid position will be located at our Corporate Office in North York, Ontario. The expected in-office schedule is three days a week, typically Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday.

Champs Sports is seeking outgoing individuals with experience in replenishment, allocations, merchandising, or retail fashion store management, combined with a passion for impressing customers. In this computer-based role at our corporate office, the Merchandiser develops and executes assortment plans and manages inventory across multiple store locations to maximize sales and profit. Our fast-paced sneaker culture offers growth opportunities beyond this role, including potential advancement into Buying, Planning, Senior Merchandiser positions, and other roles supporting our Men’s, Women’s, and Kid’s businesses. We collaborate with top brands such as Nike, Adidas, New Balance, Under Armour, Puma, and more to ensure our stores are always stocked with the latest trends.

The anticipated start date for this role is June 2025; however, this is subject to change.

Responsibilities

  1. Trend Identification & Allocation
  • Develop assortment plans aligned with strategic goals to allocate stock based on demand.
  • Identify geographic and market trends using statistical analysis, media publications, market visits, competitor analysis, and product reviews with the field team.
  • Compile and analyze product performance data to identify missed opportunities.
  • In-Season Management
    • Review weekly performance by style and category with the Buyer, Allocation Manager, and Financial Planner against plans and forecasts.
    • Create and maintain size profiles by store.
    • Regularly review in-stock rates to ensure adequate stock levels based on store and e-commerce demand.
    • Optimize inventory levels by monitoring sales and sizing trends.
    • Monitor inbound receipt flow daily to ensure product flow aligns with supply chain needs.
    • Analyze store performance on new and remodeled stores.

    Qualifications

    • Strong computer skills for data analysis.
    • Intermediate Excel skills, including formulas, pivot tables, VLOOKUP, and charts & graphs.
    • Experience in replenishment, allocations, merchandising, or retail fashion store management.
    • Knowledge of the retail fashion industry or sports environment is preferred.
    • Advanced understanding of retail math.
    • Critical thinking and effective time management skills.
    • Passion for sneaker culture.
    • Effective team participation across merchant functions.

    Benefits

    The annual salary range for this role is $53,000 - $65,000, determined by education, experience, skills, and market factors. This salary is part of the total compensation package, which includes:
