Position Summary

The Merchandise Sales Manager will ensure the mercandise sales team at the facility meets all individual and departmental sales needs. This position is responsible for the overall tasks related to event Merchandise Sales for the facility and will also lead all merchandise sales personnel during events.

This role pays an hourly rate of $18.00-$21.00 CAD

This position will remain open until September 5, 2025.

Responsibilities
  • Manage and participate in the development and implementation of goals, objectives, policies, and priorities of the merchandise sales team.
  • Assume management responsibility for all services and activities of the Merchandise Sales Department within the facility including sales tools and materials.
  • Select, train, motivate and evaluate all merchandise sales personnel; provide or coordinate staff and the training needed; work with employees to correct deficiencies; implement discipline and termination procedures.
  • Plan, direct, coordinate, and review the event merchandising plan for each event as needed.
  • Participate in the development and administration of the needs for staffing, equipment, materials, and supplies; direct the monitoring of the same; direct and implement adjustments as necessary.
  • Prepare written and electronic settlements; reevaluate potential business value of various events and clients; initiate contact with Artist merchandisers.
  • Conduct tours of facility for incoming Artist merchandiser; answer questions and provide information regarding facility capabilities.
  • Meets with Director of Finance and Director of Events to discuss all matters pertaining to event merchandising.
  • Responsible for the event set up both equipment and the electronic settlement, as well as point of sale, cash floats, reconciliations, and counts.
  • Responsible for all cash and receipts and the reconciliation thereof.
  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Sales experience for an arena, convention center, sports franchise, hotel or other similar public assembly or hospitality facility, including supervisory responsibility is preferred.
  • Ability to work event nights, weekends and holidays as required.
  • Has a strong track record of building relationships.
  • Excellent organizational skills, leadership skills, customer service skills.
  • Enthusiastic and positive thinker.
  • Strong PC and data processing skills; working knowledge of MS Word, Excel, as well as merchanise sales software.
