Job Details

Responsibilities

• Develop engineering design concepts for HVAC building systems on moderately complex projects.
• Design mechanical or electrical building systems.
• Perform calculations for heating/cooling loads and equipment sizing using standard engineering formulas.
• Collaborate with the Lead Engineer on engineering studies and schematic designs for new systems, and analyze the performance of existing systems.
• Assist in equipment selection through catalog research under engineer guidance.
• Apply a working knowledge of relevant building codes; consult with engineers to ensure code compliance.
• Contribute to the development and implementation of company design and production standards.
• Manage multiple projects simultaneously with accuracy and efficiency.
• Follow specific technical instructions with attention to detail and follow-through.
• Work collaboratively with team members, sharing ideas and suggesting process improvements.
• Attend client meetings as needed to support project development and communication.
• Conduct site visits as required to assess conditions and support design coordination.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in HVAC design within an MEP firm.
• Proficiency in Revit for mechanical or electrical design applications.
• Basic understanding of mechanical or electrical system design principles and concepts.
• Familiarity with relevant building codes and industry standards.
• Ability to interpret and work from blueprints, schematics, and engineering drawings.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Attention to detail and a commitment to high-quality work.
