Located in the West Island of Montreal, the district has 73,000 residents over 27 km² bordered by the Rivière-des-Prairies. Ecological transition is at the core of its orientations, aiming to provide residents with a peaceful living environment and sustainable local services.

Your responsibilities

You will mainly perform carpentry work involving maintenance, repair, and refurbishment of municipal buildings and equipment. You restore and manufacture various wood articles and furniture using manual or electric tools. Specifically, you will:

  • Move and rebuild partitions, install and adjust doors, windows, locks, and door handles;
  • Repair or install paneling, moldings, baseboards, cabinets, or other wooden items;
  • Install steel frames and doors;
  • Assemble wooden frameworks required for building refurbishment;
  • Install roofs and sub-floors;
  • Manufacture or repair chests, tool handles, kiosks, frames, fences, signage, and protective barriers;
  • Install suspended partitions and ceilings made from various materials (wood, metal, plastic);
  • Grosgrain, shape, and assemble various wood pieces;
  • Perform any other related tasks.
Profile sought
  • High school diploma
  • At least 2 years of experience related to the responsibilities of the role, especially in carpentry and/or cabinetmaking, including manufacturing and repairing various wooden articles (kitchen and bathroom furniture, moldings, locks, door and window installation, suspended ceiling installation); operating various power tools (saw benches, planers, jointers) depending on materials used
  • Class 5 driver's license
  • General health and safety course certification (ASP)
  • Certificate of journeyman in carpentry and joinery (desirable)
  • Professional diploma in carpentry and joinery (desirable)
