Job summary

Hundseth Power Line Construction (HPL) in Saskatoon seeks a 1st or 2nd year Apprentice Truck & Transport and/or Heavy-Duty Equipment Technician for our Saskatoon service shop. Candidates with up to two years of experience are preferred.

The successful candidate will inspect vehicles, troubleshoot and diagnose, perform routine maintenance, and complete necessary repairs in a fast-paced mechanic shop and equipment yard, under a mentorship culture.

Qualifications

• Experience with electronic systems maintenance and repair.
• Legally entitled to work in Canada.
• Must hold a valid class 5 driver’s license with a clean driver abstract.

Responsibilities

• Perform basic maintenance, including changing motor oil, rotating tires, and checking fluid levels.
• Repair or replace worn parts and systems, such as wheel bearings, brake pads, fuel systems, and sensors, suspensions on heavy trucks and trailers.
• Identify mechanical and electrical problems with manual and computerized diagnostic equipment.
• Perform repairs thoroughly and accurately with computer skills
• Follow checklists to ensure thorough examination of all parts and systems.

Education

High School diploma or equivalent

Completion of level 1 or level 2 of a postsecondary program in Truck & Transport, Heavy Duty equipment technician
