A community support organization in Nanaimo seeks a Mental Health Coordinator to assist individuals with mental health challenges. The role involves developing assistance plans and connecting clients to community resources. Ideal candidates will have relevant education and experience in mental health support, and be skilled in communication and interpersonal relations. Competitive compensation offered is $28.63 to $28.88 per hour.

Position Purpose summary:
The Mental Health Coordinator supports CRF residents with their mental health challenges and serves as a community resource contact for staff. This includes developing skills to aid the re-integration process and connecting clients with relevant service providers in the community.
Develop skills conducive to successful reintegration into the community, including:
This position is meant to support clients in building skills for healthy personal and social interactions in five key areas:
1) Communication;
2) Interpersonal relations;
3) Emotional Self Regulation;
4) Leisure; and
5) Healthy Living Skills.
(Other skills may be applicable as deemed necessary. The Mental Health Coordinator encourages community involvement and assists in the successful re-integration of offenders released to the Nanaimo area as assigned.

Compensation:
The target hiring range for this position is $28.63 to $28.88 with a maximum of $29.13.Placement in the salary range will be based on factors such as market conditions, internal equity, and candidate experience, skills, and qualifications relevant to the role.
