The worker is expected to provide crisis assessment intervention, mental health and addictions assessment/treatment for clients.

Qualifications

  • Degree in related Health and/or Human Service discipline
  • Post-secondary education with a substantial emphasis on clinical counseling and case management of mental health and/or addictions clients
  • Excellent assessment skills and demonstrates knowledge in the use of various counselling approaches including brief intervention skills
  • Excellent communication and effective interpersonal skills
  • Demonstrates ability to function independently as well as part of a multidisciplinary team
  • Awareness of, and maintains good professional boundaries
  • Ability to foster and maintain relationships with other community agencies
  • Demonstrates knowledge and appreciation of First Nations Culture
  • Ability to communicate in Ojibway or Cree is considered an asset
  • Registered in good standing with the applicable regulatory College (i.e. CSWSSW, CRPO)
  • Glass G driver’s license with clean driver’s abstract and have own vehicle for use at work
  • Reliable attendance record in previous/current employment
  • Experience in individual and group counselling
  • Experience in providing hospital-based and/or community-based mental health and addictions counselling and case management services across a continuum of patient care
