Job summary

Recovery Alberta seeks a Mental Health Therapist to deliver individual, family and group therapies at the NE Campus. You will use CBT, DBT and other modalities to support clients with moderate to severe mental health issues.

You will work with a multidisciplinary team, provide assessments, crisis intervention, referrals and case management, reporting to the Program Manager, Community Addictions and Mental Health - NE Campus. Training in trauma is a plus.

Qualifications

  • Master's or equivalent in psychology, social work, occupational therapy, or nursing with mental health training.
  • Active or eligible registration with the applicable Alberta regulatory college.
  • At least 1 year of formal therapy experience.

Responsibilities

  • Provide individual, family and group therapy using evidence-based approaches.
  • Assess, intervene in crises, and coordinate referrals and case management.
  • Collaborate within a multidisciplinary team to plan care.

The NE Clinic provides individual and group therapy using a variety of treatment modalities, including CBT, DBT, ART, EMDR, BSFT, MI and others. This position reports directly to the Program Manager, Community Addictions and Mental Health - NE Campus.

Description:

As a Mental Health Therapist, you will be required to use a variety of treatment modalities (individual, family, and group) to persons experiencing significant mental health difficulties. Working both independently and as a member of a collaborative multidisciplinary team, you will provide evidence informed and best practices in crisis intervention, assessment, consultation, referral, case management and treatment.

Required Qualifications:

Master's degree in Psychology; or master's degree in Social Work (clinical specialization) including education in mental health assessment and psychotherapy; or master's or bachelor's degree in Occupational Therapy including training and experience in mental health assessment and provision of psychotherapy; or master's degree in Nursing or Psychiatric Nursing including training and experience in mental health assessment and provision of psychotherapy. Active or eligible for registration with the applicable Alberta regulatory college.

Additional Required Qualifications:

Minimum of 1 year formal therapy experience is required.

Preferred Qualifications:

Training in trauma therapy is beneficial.
