Recovery Alberta is seeking a Mental Health Therapist to join the Crisis Response Team on a casual basis in Grande Prairie. We are seeking an experienced Mental Health Therapist to join our Crisis Response Team on a casual basis. This role is ideal for a skilled clinician who thrives in fast-paced environments and is committed to making a meaningful impact in the lives of individuals in acute crisis.
Key Responsibilities include: Conduct comprehensive clinical assessments in crisis situations; deliver evidence-informed interventions for individuals experiencing mental health or addiction crises; develop and implement safety and stabilization plans in collaboration with clients and supports; provide education, advocacy, and referrals to support continuity of care; collaborate with hospitals, physicians, law enforcement, and community services to ensure coordinated care; and document clinical interactions in accordance with professional and organizational standards.
As the Mental Health Therapist, you will be required to use a variety of treatment modalities (individual, family, and group) to persons experiencing significant mental health difficulties. Working both independently and as a member of a collaborative multidisciplinary team, you will provide evidence informed and best practices in crisis intervention, assessment, consultation, referral, case management and treatment.
Master's degree in Psychology; or master's degree in Social Work (clinical specialization) including education in mental health assessment and psychotherapy; or master's or bachelor's degree in Occupational Therapy including training and experience in mental health assessment and provision of psychotherapy; or master's degree in Nursing or Psychiatric Nursing including training and experience in mental health assessment and provision of psychotherapy. Active or eligible for registration with the applicable Alberta regulatory college.
Additional Required Qualifications:Minimum 3 years of direct clinical experience in addiction and mental health.In addition to a competitive rate of pay, Recovery Alberta currently has a Remote Retention Allowance in place to an annual maximum of $3,000. This allowance is non-pensionable and is payable on an hourly basis for all hours paid at the basic rate of pay.
