Job summary

Qualifications

Mental Health Therapist, First Call Care

Responsibilities:

  • Deliver EFAP and other clinical services, including confidential counseling, case management, assessments, and direct clinical services.
  • Conduct telephonic assessments on client behavior, emotional health, family, wellness, work issues, and crisis situations.
  • Provide clients with practical strategies for self-implementation.
  • Manage case assignments, treatment planning, documentation, and case closure in coordination with the Clinical Manager.
  • Develop action plans and conduct psycho-social and risk assessments, including suicide prevention.
  • Maintain service levels and collaborate with the team for effective service delivery.
  • Lead workshops and provide crisis management as needed.

Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree in Counselling, Social Work, or Psychology.
  • Registration with a relevant governing body as a Social Worker, Psychologist, Marriage & Family Therapist, or Canadian Certified Counsellor.
  • 2-3 years of clinical experience with mental health issues and training in solution-oriented or cognitive-behavioral therapies.
  • Experience with crisis hotlines, telephonic counseling, or EFAP preferred.
  • Excellent communication skills in English; French is an asset.
  • Ability to perform risk assessments and access community resources across Canada.
  • Empathetic, resourceful, and client-focused with a creative approach to counseling.
  • Experience with measurement-based care is an asset.

Details:

  • Schedule: Sunday to Thursday, 11 pm - 7 am EST. Temporary contract until December 2025.
  • Language: English required; French beneficial.
