Some things that our hospital can offer YOU as a full-time employee:
Under the supervision of the Registered Nurse, the Mental Health Technician (MHT) is responsible for observing and recording patient information pertinent to the treatment plan, welcoming new patients through specific admission protocols; assisting with the patient discharge process; maintaining direct patient observation; leading patient education, community, goal, and activity groups; assisting nursing staff by taking vital signs and helping patients perform ADLs. Due to the high visibility and significant patient interaction, this position is frequently the first responder to a variety of patient situations, e.g., codes, behavioral outbursts, attempts to introduce contraband, and medical issues. The MHT adjusts therapeutic approaches to acuity, age, gender, and cultural considerations. It does not assume independent responsibility for patient care. Job duties are accomplished in a manner consistent with the policies, procedures, and guidelines of Voyages Behavioral Health.
