Job description

Mental Health Services Team Leader

Location : Heathy House, Halifax, West Yorkshire

Hours : 37.5 hours per week

Salary : £29,000 per annum

Active Pathways is seeking a compassionate and experienced mental health professional to lead our new 10-bed rehabilitation service, Heathy House, in Halifax. This residential service supports individuals on their journey to independent living.

This full-time role operates on a four-week rolling rota with shifts between 6am and 10pm, Monday to Friday, including one Saturday shift per month. Flexibility is essential to meet service needs, though adjustments can be considered for the right candidate. The full rota is outlined below.

Heathy House offers supportive residential care for men with mental health needs, bridging the gap between hospital care and independent living. The service supports up to 10 residents for 18 to 24 months, focusing on building life skills, promoting recovery, and supporting emotional and physical wellbeing.

About the Role :

As Team Leader, you will be responsible for delivering safe, high-quality, recovery-focused care. You will work closely with the Registered Manager to provide daily leadership, mentor staff, foster an inclusive culture, and support residents' progress towards independence.

Key Responsibilities :

  • Lead and support the team daily, including training, mentoring, and supervising staff
  • Ensure care meets CQC standards and legal requirements
  • Maintain up-to-date care plans and promote recovery-focused support
  • Assist with rotas, staffing, budgets, petty cash, and service user finances
  • Oversee health and safety, infection control, incident reporting, and service maintenance
  • Support recruitment, inductions, training, and HR processes
  • Assess referrals, attend reviews, and communicate with families and professionals
  • Encourage learning, promote equality, and support a positive team environment
  • Cover management duties when needed and participate in the on-call rota

Week 1:

  • Mon–Wed: 9am–5pm
  • Fri: 6am–2pm
  • Sat: 9am–5pm

Week 2 & 3:

  • Mon–Tues: 9am–5pm
  • Wed: 2pm–10pm
  • Thurs–Fri: 9am–5pm

Week 4:

  • Mon–Tues: 9am–5pm
  • Wed: 7am–3pm
  • Thurs: 12pm–8pm
  • Fri: 9am–5pm
