Job Description

Position Purpose Summary: The role involves supporting the delivery and coordination of various social programs.

Accountabilities

  • Supports and coordinates the delivery of designated social programs.
  • Assists in implementing activities within social services settings.
  • Maintains contact with social service agencies and healthcare providers involved with clients to share information and gather feedback on client progress.
  • Contributes to the evaluation of social programs and activities.
  • Tracks statistics and prepares basic reports on programs and activities as needed.
  • Records and reports relevant information accurately.
  • Demonstrates respect and empathy for all clients.

Other Responsibilities

  • Assists with client intake processes, including gathering client information and ensuring follow-up surveys and statistics are completed.
  • Provides general assistance to Case Workers and acts as a liaison for administrative tasks and coordination.
  • Contacts medical, legal, tribunal, and court offices to obtain necessary information, as directed by the manager.
  • Accompanies clients to medical, legal, tribunal, and court appointments as needed.
  • Provides personal, practical, and moral support.

Performs other related duties as assigned.

Critical Relationship Management

Internal: MU leaders and staff, clients and families, volunteers.

External: Community members, police, agencies.

Managerial/Technical Responsibilities

Reports directly to the Resident Services Director. No direct reports.

Financial and Material Management

May demonstrate procedures to others.

The above responsibilities should be performed professionally, in line with The Salvation Army’s mission and code of conduct.

Working Conditions

  • Typically based in a facility environment.
  • May involve dealing with challenging behaviors, odors, exposure to bodily fluids and waste, and risk of injury.
  • Work may require shift work, including nights and weekends, and some travel.
  • Physical activity may include lifting up to 30 pounds and physical exertion.
  • Requires continuous environmental monitoring, client interaction, attentive listening, and accurate record-keeping.

Education, Experience, and Qualifications

  • Willingness to support The Salvation Army’s mission and comply with health and safety policies.
  • High school diploma and up to one year of specialized training or courses.
  • CPR, First Aid, and Non-Violent Crisis Intervention training, or willingness to obtain.
  • Criminal and Vulnerable Sector Checks required.
  • At least one year of related experience preferred.

Compensation

Range: $18.05 to $22.56, up to $27.07, based on experience and qualifications.
