Job summary

Cambridge Memorial Hospital is seeking a Registered Practical Nurse to provide nursing care for adults with mental health needs. This part-time role requires current CNO registration, a valid RPN diploma, and 2 years of mental health nursing experience.

Qualifications

• Registration with College of Nurses of Ontario (CNO) is required.
• RPN Diploma or equivalent is required.
• Two years current experience in mental health nursing is required.
• CMH Nonviolent Crisis Intervention (NVCI) training within 3 months of hire is required.
• Knowledge of OMHRS and Meditech is an asset.
• Excellent communication and problem-solving skills in a multidisciplinary team.
• Ability to integrate discharge planning with community resources.

Responsibilities

• Provide nursing care to individuals with mental health needs.
• Administer psychotropic medications and monitor responses.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team for patient care planning.
• Support discharge planning and community transitions.
• Maintain patient safety and promote health promotion activities.
