Job summary

A healthcare provider in Edmonton is seeking a Mental Health Clinician to deliver psychosocial interventions for individuals dealing with addiction and mental health issues. This role involves working within a multidisciplinary team, conducting assessments, and collaborating with various stakeholders. Candidates must have relevant qualifications and be prepared to provide evidence-based care. This position will transition to Recovery Alberta in 2024.

Qualifications

  • Must possess relevant registrations (Nurse, Psychiatric Nurse, Social Worker, Psychologist, Occupational Therapist).
  • Experience with addiction and mental health disorders preferred.
  • Ability to work in a multidisciplinary team.

Your Opportunity:

This is a unique position within the Edmonton zone that offers you a wide range of experience and opportunities to positively impact the lives of those living with or caring for individuals with addiction and/or mental health concerns. Access 24/7 is a growing program that provides a wide range of addiction and mental health services such as: system navigation, screening, assessment, intake, referral, consultation, crisis intervention, and community outreach. Interventions with our clientele and/or their families can occur in the clinic, the community, or in a client’s home, dependent on the identified needs. This exciting role also works closely with many stakeholders such as EMS, EPS, RCMP, PCNs, community agencies, emergency departments, our acute care environments, and the broader AMH portfolios within the zone. This position will join our multidisciplinary team of professionals who provide quality, client-focused, recovery-based, concurrent-capable, culturally appropriate care within Addictions and Mental Health.

As the Mental Health Clinician, you will perform psychosocial interventions utilizing various treatment modalities with individuals experiencing significant mental health difficulties. Working both independently and as part of a collaborative team, you will provide evidence-informed and best practice in crisis intervention, assessment, consultation, referral, and treatment.   • Working as a member of the multidisciplinary health care team to deliver care for individuals, families, and communities.
  • Conducting intake, clinical interviews, and screening for clients with addiction and mental health disorders.
  • Liaising with internal and external stakeholders and collaborating with team members.
  • Participating in program planning, development, and supervising practicum students.

This position is open to Registered Nurses, Registered Psychiatric Nurses, Registered Social Workers, Registered Psychologists, and Registered Occupational Therapists.
