A healthcare organization in Canada seeks a Mental Health Clinician to provide impactful care for individuals with mental health and addiction concerns. Your Opportunity:
This is a unique position within the Edmonton zone that offers you a wide range of experience and opportunities to positively impact the lives of those living with or caring for individuals with addiction and/or mental health concerns. Access 24/7 is a growing program providing services such as system navigation, screening, assessment, intake, referral, consultation, crisis intervention, and community outreach. Interventions can occur in the clinic, community, or in a client’s home, depending on needs. The role involves collaboration with stakeholders like EMS, EPS, RCMP, PCNs, community agencies, emergency departments, and broader AMH portfolios. You will join a multidisciplinary team providing quality, client-focused, recovery-oriented, concurrent capable, culturally appropriate care within Addictions and Mental Health. As a Mental Health Clinician, you will perform psychosocial interventions using various modalities with individuals experiencing significant mental health difficulties. Working independently and as part of a team, you will deliver evidence-informed practices in crisis intervention, assessment, consultation, referral, and treatment. As a Mental Health Clinician, you will collaborate within a multidisciplinary team to deliver care for individuals, families, and communities. Responsibilities include intake, clinical interviews, and screening of clients with addiction and mental health disorders. You will liaise with internal and external stakeholders and work collaboratively with team members. Opportunities may include program planning, development, and supervision of practicum students. The position is open to Registered Nurses, Registered Psychiatric Nurses, Registered Social Workers, Registered Psychologists, and Registered Occupational Therapists.
Required Qualifications:
Master's degree in psychology, or bachelor's in social work with mental health training, or master's/bachelor's in occupational therapy with similar training, or bachelor's in nursing with mental health experience, or bachelor's in psychiatric nursing. Active or eligible registration with Alberta regulatory college.
Additional Qualifications:
Minimum of 3 years' relevant addiction and mental health experience, formal clinical training in triage, intervention, and stabilization, Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS-HCP), ability to move quickly and safely in various environments, extensive knowledge of community resources.
Preferred Qualifications:
Ability to work well with community stakeholders, clients, and families.
