A regional health authority in Kelowna seeks a part-time Mental Health and Substance Use Worker. The role involves providing assessment, treatment, and service coordination for clients facing substance use challenges. We are currently looking for a permanent part-time (0.42 FTE) Mental Health and Substance Use (MHSU) Worker to join the Mental Health and Substance Use Access Central team based out of the Kelowna Community Health & Services centre in Kelowna, B.C.

The MHSU Substance Use Worker supports Access Central, a new regional virtual service delivered by a centralized interdisciplinary team based in Kelowna. This position will support regional, coordinated access to substance use bed-based services, including treatment, transition, stabilization, and supportive recovery.
The Substance Use Worker functions as a member of the larger Hospitals & Communities Integrated Services (HCIS) healthcare team and a specific MHSU multi-disciplinary team. The goal is to ensure that individuals experiencing substance use problems or concurrent substance use and mental health issues have access to timely, evidence-based treatment and clinical supports across the continuum of available services.
The Substance Use Worker provides assessment, treatment, service coordination, and urgent response when required to clients who may also have serious impairments in physical health and personal, family, financial, occupational, and social domains. The Worker functions as a primary clinician utilizing various specialized treatment modalities and therapies for individuals, groups, and families.
Shifts are during the day, from 09:00 to 17:00 hours.
