A relief full-time opportunity exists for a Mental Health and Substance Use (MHSU) Crisis Response Clinician | RCMP Liaison to join the welcoming Mental Health Substance Use team at the Rocky Mountain Lodge in Cranbrook, B.C. This relief position is until the return of the incumbent.

We are seeking a self-directed candidate with past and/or current counselling experience, group facilitation experience, good working knowledge and experience in Mental Health & Substance Use, and general competency in concurrent disorders. The successful candidate will have extensive understanding and knowledge of the physical, psychological, social, and spiritual needs of clients, their families, and communities. Knowledge of Indigenous communities and resources, especially those in the Kootenay areas, is highly desirable.
The Counselling & Treatment Clinician functions as a member of the larger Hospitals & Communities Integrated Services (HCIS) healthcare team and as part of a specific MHSU multidisciplinary team. The team’s purpose is to ensure that individuals with serious acute mental health problems and/or problematic substance use issues have access to timely, responsive, evidence-based short-term treatment and clinical supports across the continuum of services.
The Clinician provides, at an advanced practice level, assessment, treatment, service coordination, and urgent response to complex clients, often with co-occurring disorders and serious functional impairments across physical health, personal, family, financial, occupational, and social domains.
The Clinician utilizes a variety of specialized treatment modalities and therapies for individuals, groups, and families.
Shift times are from 08:30 to 16:30 hours.
