Job description

We are currently seeking a Mental Health and Substance Use (MHSU) Clinician for a permanent full-time position with the South Okanagan MHSU Integrated Treatment Team (ITT) in Penticton, B.C.

Interior Health and partner agencies provide a range of mental health and substance use services for all ages. Our services are welcoming of all peoples, gender identities, cultures, ethnicities, and backgrounds.

What will you work on?

The ITT provides flexible, discreet treatment for individuals experiencing difficulties with substance use through virtual and in-person therapy options. The team emphasizes care coordination and an interdisciplinary approach.

The Substance Use Clinician is part of the larger Hospitals & Communities Integrated Services (HCIS) healthcare team and a specific MHSU multi-disciplinary team. The role ensures access to timely, evidence-based treatment and clinical supports for persons experiencing substance use problems, including those with co-occurring disorders and functional impairments across various domains.

The clinician provides assessment, treatment, service coordination, and urgent response at an advanced practice level, often working with complex clients. The role involves utilizing specialized treatment modalities for individuals, groups, and families.

Scheduling Information

Shift types are days from 08:30 to 16:30 hours, with weekends and statutory holidays off.
