Job summary

A leading health and well-being provider seeks a Registered Social Worker or Psychotherapist to deliver in-person counselling for marginalized individuals facing complex challenges. This independent contract role requires a Master's degree, professional membership, and two years of counselling experience. Registered Social Worker or Psychotherapist

Location: Napanee, ON. (5 hours / month)

In collaboration with the Ministry of the Solicitor General, we are seeking a registered social worker or psychotherapist with experience supporting marginalized individuals facing complex life challenges, including mental health, addictions, social exclusion, and involvement with the justice system.

The Opportunity :

An independent contract providing in-person counselling to assigned cases referred by the Ministry of the Solicitor General, in a probation and parole office.

Our Gov't Services Counsellors :
  • Support mandated clients by providing medium-term counselling to assigned cases;
  • Communicate, with express consent, with external professionals on behalf of clients;
  • Follow the Government Counselling Services client services model and administrative requirements;
  • Meet contractual obligations to the Ministry of the Solicitor General, Ontario.
What we're looking for :
  • Master's degree in Counselling, Psychology, or Social Work;
  • Professional College membership in Ontario and valid professional liability insurance;
  • Minimum of two (2) years post-graduate counselling experience;
  • Ability to work with diverse clients presenting a wide range of issues and good knowledge of local community resources;
  • Strong clinical assessment skills with the ability to promote community adaptation and integration;
  • Ability to set short-term objectives and work from a strength-based model;
  • Availability to provide in-person support during business hours.
