Union Gospel Mission in Vancouver, BC, seeks a Recovery Coach, Men's Recovery, to guide residents through recovery in a residential program. This permanent, full-time role applies lived experience to support men facing substance use and mental health challenges in a structured team setting.

The position is full-time (37.5 hours/week) with a starting wage range of CAD 28.96 to CAD 31.64 per hour, plus benefits and development opportunities.

Qualificações

• Personal lived experience of overcoming addiction.
• 2–3 years of related work experience.
• Knowledge of addiction and recovery, including stages of recovery, relapse process and triggers.
• Recovery Coaching and/or Motivational Interviewing expertise.
• 12-step and other non-step recovery knowledge, including local meetings.

Responsabilidades

• Provide coaching and support to clients to foster problem solving and skill building.
• Support recovery by helping residents build connections to community resources.
• Use Motivational Interviewing/Coaching to empower residents in their recovery journey.
• Work with clients to clarify recovery goals and participate in case conferences with the Men’s Recovery team.
• Communicate and document situations and observations to the resident’s counsellor and team for continuity of care.
• Foster recovery culture with on-site activities; join in with hikes, running clubs, etc.
• Duties vary by shift; day-time duties include wellness checks, intakes, urine screening, orientation, and discharges.
• Delivery of workshops where appropriate.
