Job description

The Membership Services team provides support and education on membership for all Co-op members, summer participants, and summer programming, as well as preparation for Fall/Winter membership needs. The team manages the membership database, publishes the Membership Newsletter, and ensures the accuracy of the membership roll. Working in small groups or across departments, youth in these roles develop confidence and master skills in writing, analysis, and workplace participation. Our waterfall mentorship model allows participants to learn from those more experienced and to help others learn in turn. These roles are progressive over the summer, offering scope and responsibility based on ability and willingness, providing a great opportunity to 'level up' in a team setting where your voice makes a difference.

Full-time summer employment contracts range from 8 to 16 weeks, from May through September. Post-secondary students are encouraged to apply as part of their co-op or work placement programs. Contracts are funded by the Government of Canada and offered at the Ontario minimum wage.

The positions follow a hybrid work structure, combining remote work with in-person meetings at the office or meet-up locations as needed for collaboration or supervision. Training and workshops may be online or in-person.

To be eligible, applicants must:

  • Be 15-30 years old on their first day of work
  • Be a Canadian citizen, permanent resident, or protected under the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act
  • Be present in Canada during employment
  • Hold a valid Social Insurance Number and be legally permitted to work in Canada
  • Note that funding availability varies by location
