Job summary

YMCA of Northeastern Ontario in Sudbury is seeking a Part-Time Membership Services Representative to join a team of dedicated professionals. You will handle membership data entry, process payments, and manage course registrations at the Durham location.

As the first point of contact, you will provide accurate information and courteous service, promote membership sales, and support program offerings while protecting confidential information.

Qualifications

• OSSD diploma preferred.
• 3+ months of customer service experience.
• Excellent verbal and written communication; bilingual English/French is an asset.
• Advanced computer skills.
• Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills.
• Current Standard First Aid and CPR C.
• Police Record with Vulnerable Sector Check.

Responsibilities

• Maintain product knowledge and promote membership sales.
• Actively engage members and promote YMCA programs.
• Complete sales transactions for members and program participants.
• Ensure fees charged align with membership or service type.
• Resolve member concerns or direct to appropriate staff.
• Perform facility tours.
• Protect confidential information.
• Support member retention with follow-up for new members.
• Process payment authorizations accurately.
• Acknowledge every desk visitor.
• Provide prompt and courteous service.
• Keep Membership Desk clean and welcoming.

Job description

We are currently looking for Membership Services Representative to join our team of committed professionals. This Part-Time position within the Association is housed at the YMCA of Northeastern Ontario’s Durham location in Sudbury.

Under the leadership of the Supervisor of Membership Services, the Membership Services Representative is responsible for all membership data entry, financial payments, and course registration. In addition, Membership Services Representatives are often the initial point of contact at the YMCA. As such, they represent the organization, making the dissemination of accurate information and courteous service critical to the success of the YMCA.

START DATE: As Soon As Possible

LOCATION: Durhum, Subury, ON

RATE OF PAY: 18.23 /- Hourly

HOURS: 10-15 Hours / Weekly

Major Responsibilities

• Maintain the highest level of product knowledge and promote membership sales
• Actively engage members and promote YMCA programs
• Complete sales transactions with new and renewing members and program participants
• Ensure that the fees are charged according to the type of membership or service purchased
• Resolve member’s concerns or problems personally or redirect them to the appropriate staff person
• Perform facility tours
• Ensure that all confidential information is properly protected
• Ensure member retention guidelines are being followed and all new members receive a follow up
• Ensure that all required authorization forms for payment processing are completed and checked for accuracy
• Acknowledge each individual that comes to the desk
• Provide consistently prompt and courteous service
• Ensure that the Membership Desk is clean and welcoming
• Build relationships with members and guests, and promote the YMCA as a charitable organization

Qualifications

• Possession of an Ontario Secondary School Diploma (OSSD) preferred
• Minimum of three (3) months of customer service or related experience
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills (bilingualism is an asset-French and English)

• Current Standard First Aid and CPR C
• Current and satisfactory Police Record with Vulnerable Sector Check
