Qualifications

  • Grade 12 plus a minimum of 12 - 15 months experience as a full service teller or Member Service Representative with a financial institution.
  • Equivalent combination of the above may be appropriate.

  • Provide a variety of services to members and perform duties related to ATM servicing.
  • Conduct end of day balancing procedures and reconciles outages.

THE ROLE:
Under general supervision, processes financial and non-financial transactions using the computerized Banking System and automated cash dispenser, and provides a variety of services to members; performs a variety of duties relating to the servicing of the ATM and the balancing and reconciliation of ATM transactions; conducts end of day balancing procedures and reconciles outages; reviews incoming and outgoing collections; reports large deposits and withdrawals; on a rotating and or relief basis, provides a central cash service to MSRs; balances utilities and remits to CUCBC; opens and verifies night deposits; processes post dated diary file transactions; retrieves cards, stamps, cashables and safeguards cash, keys, cards and stamps; advises members of outstanding chargeback items; reviews a variety of daily, weekly and monthly computer generated reports; holds combinations; acts as a buddy for new MSRs; conducts regular weekly outgoing telephone calls; follows money laundering policy and procedures; maintains member confidentiality, receives and records temporary cheque orders; participates in branch campaigns & telemarketing program; conducts cash counts in joint custody; replenishes supplies at member counters; maintains up to date knowledge of robbery and emergency procedures.

May perform a variety of duties relating to the administration of estate accounts, open merchant MasterCard accounts, reviews monthly report of written off service charges, receives member reports of lost or stolen MasterCard and POS cards; calculate Law Foundation interest payments and perform a variety of clerical functions related to the maintenance of member accounts; review a variety of reports and initiate adjusting entries.

REQUIRED SKILLS & ABILITIES:
  • Knowledge of banking procedures, and the features and use of the computerized Relationship Banking System
  • Knowledge of moderately complex balancing and reconciliation procedures and techniques
  • Knowledge of the features of all basic credit union products and services, including ATM, estate accounts and Merchant MasterCard
  • Knowledge of cash handling procedures
  • Knowledge of cross selling techniques
  • Knowledge of basic treasury, security and safeguarding procedures
  • Knowledge of money laundering policies and procedures
  • May require knowledge of computerized spreadsheet or wordprocessing applications
  • Ability to deal with members, the public and co-workers in a courteous, friendly, professional and efficient manner
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing
  • Ability to post and balance in an accurate and timely manner
  • Ability to use a variety of office machines including calculators, adding machines, ACD, ATM and fax equipment

QUALIFICATIONS

This position will require the following education and experience skills:

  • Grade 12 plus a minimum of 12 - 15 months experience as a full service teller or Member Service Representative with a financial institution

The typical salary range for this position is $55,900 - $70,300 CAD per year. The final offer may vary based on your job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and expertise.
