Job description

We are currently seeking a Member Advisor to join our team.

The Member Advisor is responsible for providing front-line member service to triage and manage member needs by asking thoughtful financial questions and creating positive experiences to retain and deepen financial relationships. They will also promote the use of digital channels to serve and answer customer questions, address concerns, and escalate issues as appropriate while maintaining confidentiality and accuracy. The Member Advisor identifies the member's life stage cycle and provides solutions to financial needs or refers members to an appropriate advisor.

Here’s what would be included as a part of your typical day
  • Member Service: Triage member questions and needs through digital channels and MAC where appropriate. Build strong relationships with current and potential members; identify member life stages and provide financial advice or referrals.
  • Member Transactions: Process a range of transactions including opening accounts, issuing debit/credit cards, and deposits. Promote digital banking adoption and achieve sales and referral targets.
  • Branch Goals: Support branch objectives through promotion of products and services, participate in campaigns, and seek cross-sell and referral opportunities.
  • Other Responsibilities: Stay informed about industry issues, regulations, and participate in process improvements. Strive to meet service and productivity targets, and prioritize tasks using the Day in the Life guideline.
  • Branch/Team Support: Contribute as a team member, help foster a positive work environment, mentor others, and perform additional duties as needed.
Required Skills, Experience & Qualifications
  • High School Diploma required; College, Trade or Tech School Diploma preferred.
  • Completion of FW Sales Essentials Course within 6 months of hire.
  • Must complete the internal First West certification within the required timeframe.
  • Minimum 2 years of retail/customer service experience; sales and cash handling experience preferred.
  • Ability to identify needs and recommend products/services, strong interpersonal skills, and relationship-building ability.
  • Positive attitude, flexibility, and ability to work in a busy environment.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and understanding of risk management policies.
