Job summary

Halton Healthcare is seeking a Registered Nurse for the Program-Based Float Pool in Medicine. The role supports safe staffing across Oakville, Milton and Georgetown sites with rotating 12-hour shifts, including nights and weekends.

The successful candidate will hold an active RN license in Ontario and have at least two years of acute care inpatient experience, with additional certifications valued for program flexibility.

Qualifications

• Registered nurse with current license to practice in Ontario.
• Two years acute care inpatient RN experience required.
• Additional certifications may be preferred based on unit needs.

Responsibilities

• Provide safe, patient- and family-centered nursing care within the program.
• Work across designated units and sites within the program as needed.
• Support staffing needs related to vacancies, leaves, and surge capacity.
• Perform comprehensive patient assessments and escalate changes promptly.
• Administer medications and treatments per policy and law.
• Collaborate with interprofessional teams to ensure quality outcomes.
• Support discharge planning and patient education.
• Maintain accurate documentation and competency development.
• May assume charge nurse responsibilities when appropriate.
