Position Overview:

The Personal Care Medication Aide/Caregiver is responsible for distributing medications and treatments to our residents. This position also performs the general duties and responsibilities of the household caregiver. The medication aide provides medical and physical care to the residents of the household to meet their daily needs and enable them to function at the highest possible level. This position is the residents' closest advocate in the household. As a caregiver, this role promotes the resident's psychosocial well-being through meaningful relationship building and works with the household team to meet other social service needs of the resident and the household.

In this role, one would provide support, friendship, and kindness for each of the household members. This role plans and facilitates social activities for residents of the household which provide meaningful ways to spend time as recreation, exercise, relationship building, and fun. This role also supports the household homemaker in maintaining a clean, safe household environment and in caring for the residents’ personal laundry.

Qualifications:
  • 18 years of age or older unless active on the Pennsylvania Nurse Aide registry
  • High school diploma/equivalent required unless active on the Nurse Aide registry
  • Must be able to successfully complete required medication training
  • Must possess the ability to follow written and verbal instructions
  • Strong communication skills
  • Previous experience working with older adults preferred
  • Excellent customer service
  • Positive attitude
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Capable of working as part of a team
