We have extensive experience supporting special events, including marathons, cycling events, obstacle courses, music festivals, concerts, VIP speakers, stadium events, parades, and civic celebrations. We are national leaders in event medical services, first aid, health, and safety for mass gatherings. Our expertise includes risk management, emergency planning, traffic planning, event operations, and medical direction.

Job Description

WHO WE ARE:

Odyssey Medical is a nationally incorporated Canadian company specializing in Event Medical and Risk Management services. We deliver approximately 2,500 days of simultaneous event coverage annually, supporting both private and public clients across a variety of events such as marathons, cycling races, obstacle and adventure courses, concerts, festivals, stadium-based events, and community celebrations. We also support venues like nightclubs and film & TV sets with year-round medical team coverage. Odyssey has an established Medical Direction and symptom relief program to assist first responders, medics, and advanced medical practitioners in providing efficient and discreet care.

Requirements

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR:

Odyssey Medical seeks experienced individuals in Alberta to join our Medical Volunteer Program within our EVENT MEDICAL TEAM division. Main event locations include Calgary, Edmonton, Strathmore, and Camrose. As a vital part of our medical volunteer team, you will support our frontline staff at major events, providing services to clients and patients.

Our mission is to provide primary medical response to on-site emergencies. We are looking for team members who can:

  • Successfully complete all mandatory company training
  • Provide a responsive, respectful, and welcoming environment for attendees, patients, and staff
  • Work comfortably in fast-paced, high-stress environments both indoors and outdoors

WHAT YOU BRING TO THE ROLE:

  • You are a student (PCP, Medical, or RN) or a newly certified medical professional eager to learn and gain event medical experience
  • You hold or are working towards IFA, EFR, EMR, PCP, ACP, RN certifications
  • You can adhere to your scope of practice while prioritizing patient care
  • You have a customer service-oriented approach
  • You are coachable and eager to learn
  • You have hands-on event medical experience
  • You have field training and leadership skills
  • You have networking connections in the medical community
  • You are willing to attend events across Alberta
  • You will receive Odyssey Medical apparel and swag
  • You will enjoy meals, snacks, and other perks during volunteering (event-dependent)
  • All necessary equipment and PPE are provided
