Job description

Under the general supervision of the Home & Community Care Coordinator, the Transportation Services Driver shall provide transportation services for the members of Moose Cree First Nation. The Driver will provide transportation for medical appointments, treatments, and follow-up appointments. Priority will be given to medical appointments for all ages.

Our program provides transportation services for opportunities for socialization, errands, and to promote independent living and a good quality of life for the cognitively impaired, physically disabled, frail, and elderly.

Qualifications/Requirements:

• Compassionate in helping the elders and disabled in the community.
• Able to multitask and prioritize accordingly.
• Reliable and dependable.
• Assist clients in and out of the vehicle when required.
• Strong interpersonal and problem-solving skills.
• Practice safety protocols for the elders and disabled of the community.
• Good organizational and administrative skills.
• Previous experience in delivering transportation services.
• Able to handle difficult situations and clients.
• The ability to work under minimum supervision, flexible hours, and within a team framework.
• Strong written and communication skills.
• Computer and radio skills.
• The ability to speak Cree is an asset.
• CPIC with a vulnerable sector check required.
• Must have C.P.R. and First Aid or be willing to obtain.
• The Transportation Services Driver shall have a thorough understanding of the cultural environment in which they serve.

Duration: Permanent with 3-month probation.
