Job summary

A community organization seeks a Medical Transportation Clerk to coordinate medical transportation for community members in Southwestern Ontario. Ideal candidates will have a Grade 12 education and experience in an office setting, particularly within First Nation communities. This role is critical for ensuring smooth communication around health benefits and will require strong organizational skills and data entry experience.

Qualifications

  • One year of work experience in an office setting required.
  • Experience or knowledge of health benefits is preferred.
  • Must pass a Criminal Record and Vulnerable Sector Check.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate medical transportation for community members.
  • Act as the frontline contact for health benefits queries.
  • Implement the FNIHB Medical Transportation Directive.

The Medical Transportation Clerk is responsible for the coordination of medical transportation for the community members of the Chippewas of Nawash Unceded First Nation; and ensure the FNIHB Medical Transportation Directive is implemented. They are the frontline contact for the community members on health benefits.

Qualifications

  • Grade 12 or equivalent
  • One (1) year work experience in an office setting with data entry.
  • Experience working in a First Nation or Indigenous community and/or similar organization.
  • Experience or knowledge of non-insured health benefits
  • Experience with office equipment, computers and various software including Microsoft, Word, Excel
  • Financially literate and understanding of basic accounting principles
  • Skilled and organized for ensuring safe and effective file management system
  • Acceptable Criminal Record and Vulnerable Sector Check
  • CPR/First Aid or ability to obtain within probationary period

Equivalencies that include a combination of education and experience may be considered.
