Job description

Bigstone Medical Transport Ltd. is seeking two (2) experienced, highly motivated, and dependable Medical Transport Drivers to join our talented team. This is a rewarding opportunity for individuals who appreciate First Nation culture, seek professional development, and enjoy collaboration with a multidisciplinary team and various professionals and agencies.

Duties and Responsibilities

1. Transport clients in the Edmonton Metro area, including out-of-town trips.
2. Provide exceptional customer service to clients.
3. Follow all transportation safety rules and regulations.
4. Clean the vehicle daily and report any issues.
5. Ensure the vehicle is equipped with an emergency kit at all times.
6. Coordinate trip schedules with clerks.
7. Complete and submit daily log books, inspection reports, and trip sheets.
8. Assist clients and Elders in and out of the vehicle safely.
9. Help clients with wheelchairs, luggage, strollers, etc.
10. Work various shifts as needed (days, evenings, graveyards, weekends).
11. Be willing to work the Athabasca Run with rotational shifts every two weeks.
12. Be available on short notice.
13. Perform other duties as required.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

1. Good verbal and written communication skills.
2. Organized with good time management.
3. Ability to work independently, take initiative, and be a team player.

Education and Experience

1. High School Diploma.
2. Valid Class 1, 2, or 4 Driver’s license (must have).
3. Ability to speak and understand Cree is an asset.

Salary depends on qualifications.
