The shift pattern for this position is Monday - Friday.
The post holder will provide a comprehensive secretarial and administrative service to a Consultant(s) and their team(s). To act as a focal point for the provision of help and advice to staff members, patients and professionals in relation to service enquiries and co-ordinate the patient’s pathway. The department provides a full range of professional administrative, secretarial and clerical services which support clinical staff to deliver high quality, efficient and effective patient-centred care within Acute Services, in line with local and national standards. The following sets out the core responsibilities of the Medical Secretary. The frequency and extent to which the post holder carries out all duties may vary from specialty to specialty.

NHS Scotland is reducing their full-time working week from 37.5 to 37 hours per week from 1 April 2024 but with no change in pay. This reduction will also be applied pro rata for part-time staff. However, as not all service areas will be able to adopt the 37-hour working week immediately from 1 April 2024, you may be required to work up to an additional 30 minutes per week for a temporary period for which you would be paid until the service you are working in changes rosters or working patterns to accommodate the new reduced working week.
