Vision

Roche is embarking on a bold journey to transform care in obesity and cardio-metabolic disorders. As we expand our scientific focus into these interconnected therapeutic areas, we are building a dedicated medical team to lay the groundwork for our emerging clinical portfolio.
Addressing metabolic health requires navigating complex, evolving care pathways across both traditional clinical care and emerging patient-driven healthcare models. To support this expanding pipeline, we are seeking Medical Science Partners (MSP), dedicated to early scientific exchange and ecosystem readiness. This team will impact care paradigms, build foundational partnerships with key healthcare leaders, and ensure the Canadian healthcare system is prepared for the next generation of metabolic innovations. This is a rare opportunity to build our Roche presence, in the critical pre-launch window where the groundwork you lay determines the difference we make.

Opportunity

As an MSP in Cardio-Metabolic, you will operate as an agile, collaborative, entrepreneurial medical professional with high functional mastery and creative thinking. Rather than executing a standard playbook, you will use ambiguity as a strategic advantage, uncovering novel landscape realities, uncovering emerging clinical trends, translating medical insights into care transformation, and fostering healthcare system readiness to improve long-term patient outcomes. Every conversation you have, every insight you surface, and every piece of evidence you translate helps Roche deliver better outcomes to more patients, faster and helps healthcare providers prepare to change lives at scale.

Specifically you will:

  • Develop and apply scientific expertise to advance clinical practice across a multi-specialty landscape
  • Understand, establish and maintain network connections to maximize potential and prioritize patient impact
  • Display high business acumen by translating healthcare ecosystem insights into disciplined territory plans. Make clear trade-offs, prioritize high impact initiatives, and establish long term clinical readiness
  • Rapidly onboard across our expanding Metabolism, Obesity, MASH, and Cardiovascular portfolio to deliver sophisticated scientific exchange
  • Collaborate with external stakeholders to co-create solutions for improved patient care
  • Fosters a culture of trust, empowerment, and shared leadership through peer-to-peer coaching and mentorship
  • Continuously learn and grow through transparent and productive feedback while delivering on executional excellence and upholding compliance, ethics, and safety standards and grow in a self-directed way by giving and receiving transparent & productive feedback
Who you are

You are a seasoned field medical professional driven by functional mastery, strategic agility, out of the box thinking and a team first collaborative mindset. You do not wait for step-by-step instructions. You thrive in complex, fast changing environments, connect disparate insights, and build strategic pathways where none yet exist. In addition, you also:

  • Hold a university Degree in a Science Based Program (PhD, MSc,MD, Pharm D, Biomedical, allied Health) and/or relevant experience in life sciences or health care system sector
  • Have 7+ years’ of experience in the life sciences or health care system sector including clinical or therapeutic knowledge of metabolism (with a preference in obesity management). This position requires established field medical expertise and resourcefulness; it is not suited for candidates new to field roles or the pharmaceutical industry
  • Ability to turn landscape ambiguity into a strategic advantage, balancing scientific rigor with long-term enterprise strategy to see the direct impact of today's work on future patient outcomes
  • Excel in high level scientific dialogue, external debate, challenging existing paradigms, and meaningful, peer-to-peer partnership with key medical experts
  • Experience in critical data analysis, statistical interpretation, and translating complex trial data into clear, compelling scientific narratives
  • Have a good understanding of the pharma, health care system environment, industry codes (eg. IMC), relevant regulations (eg. GCP, PV) and the development of assets (drugs, devices, etc.)
  • Have the ability to travel depending on the business need. May vary from limited travel to up to 40%
  • In this position, you will be in contact with colleagues across Canada, so a proficient level of English is required
