Summary Of The Position
The MSL is a field-based role responsible for providing medical and scientific information to external and internal stakeholders about the company's products and therapeutic areas. Reporting to the Director, Medical Affairs, your mission will be to serve as an MSL for our Specialty products (Cardio-Metabolic and Neuropsychiatry). This position covers Western Canada provinces.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Support Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs) & other healthcare professionals (HCPs) by explaining complex scientific and clinical data, increasing awareness and understanding of new products or indications.
- Develop strong relationships with KOLs, HCPs, researchers, and medical organizations in your therapeutic area and region.
- Conduct regional KOL mapping and gather insights on market trends, clinical practices, and patient flow.
- Facilitate clinical research activities between Bausch Health Medical and investigators for sponsored studies and Investigator Initiated Trials (IITs), adhering to policies and SOPs.
- Deliver scientific presentations on Bausch Health products and related educational topics.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support local initiatives such as educational programs, round tables, and conferences.
- Plan and execute KOL meetings and scientific exchanges, ensuring compliance and proper documentation.
- Develop and implement medical territory and KOL engagement plans aligned with medical strategy, updating as needed throughout the year.
- Collect and analyze insights from meetings and consultations to inform medical strategies.
- Prepare and review presentation slides for internal and external use.
- Stay scientifically current by reviewing literature and other sources.
- Assist in publications, posters, and scientific communication efforts.
- Attend conferences, provide summaries, and document peer-to-peer exchanges and KOL engagements in CRM.
- Report adverse events within 24 hours of awareness, following SOPs and training.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- MD, PharmD, PhD, or MSc in health sciences.
- At least one year in an MSL or related role, or two years in pharmaceutical sales or similar.
- Experience with Cardio-Metabolic diseases and/or Schizophrenia is advantageous.
- Preferably based in Vancouver, BC, or Calgary, AB.
- Skills include strategic thinking, networking, scientific research, excellent communication, adaptability, and teamwork.
