JOB PURPOSE:

As a Medical Science Liaison (MSL), you will be responsible for applying your non-promotional medical expertise to ensure the safe and effective use of GSK’s products across our Respiratory portfolio. This involves impactful scientific interactions and supporting key external and internal stakeholders in alignment with the therapeutic area Medical Plan. The MSL will collaborate with field partners to provide credible scientific clinical information about our therapies to healthcare professionals, external experts, organizations, and decision-makers in the specialty care setting, in a manner consistent with GSK’s principles for scientific engagement. This is a therapeutically aligned, field-based position covering Ontario, requiring frequent travel.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Establish and maintain scientific peer-to-peer relationships with key external experts by presenting balanced scientific data, supporting medical educational opportunities, and providing scientific support following GSK standards, policies, laws, and regulations.
  • Be recognized as the scientific field-based partner in the territory, maintaining deep knowledge of respiratory diseases, treatments, and the competitive landscape for effective scientific dialogue and clinical knowledge translation.
  • Engage with a range of stakeholders, including Respirologists, ENTs, Allergists, community care experts, healthcare professionals, investigators, and advocacy groups, in a non-promotional manner, providing value and responsiveness to inquiries.
  • Act as a proactive partner between the healthcare community and GSK cross-functional teams, sharing insights to inform business strategies.
  • Represent GSK at scientific congresses, including providing session coverage, booth staffing, and leading external engagement plans.
  • Provide scientific training to GSK sales representatives using approved materials.
  • Support Investigator Initiated Studies, real-world evidence projects, and identify potential clinical trial sites in Canada as needed.
QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Post-graduate scientific degree (MD, Ph.D., PharmD) is an asset
  • Bilingual in French and English is an asset
  • Reside within Ontario
  • Strong scientific credibility and ability to facilitate peer-to-peer discussions
  • Excellent public speaking and presentation skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills and strategic execution capabilities
  • Knowledge of Canadian regulations on medical information exchange
  • Negotiation, leadership, and organizational skills
  • Familiarity with Canadian reimbursement processes
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to travel up to 70%, including evenings and weekends
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Over 2 years of experience in respiratory medical affairs with established healthcare professional relationships
